Rwenzori – On the roof of the Mountains of the Moon
The Rwenzori (5109 m), the "Mountains of the Moon" on the Uganda–Congo border, are one of the few places where you set off from tropical forest and reach a glacier above 5000 m. A rare expedition through jungle, swamps and equatorial ice.

There are very few places on Earth where you can set off from tropical forest and arrive, a few days later, on a glacier at over 5000 m altitude.
Hidden on the border between Uganda and Congo, the Rwenzori massif seems straight out of a lost world.
In the first days we walk through jungle, cross suspension bridges and bamboo forests. Then come the alpine bogs, glacial lakes and giant plants that have made this corner of Africa famous.
