The Greater Caucasus is like nothing else. Between the rock towers of Chaukhi and the wide silence of the Abano Valley, the days take on a different weight: the air is purer, the sky closer, the rhythm settles naturally to the mountain.
This is not an ordinary trekking tour. It is an extended version of the classic Juta–Chaukhi–Abudelauri route, enriched with a day in the Abano Valley – a rarely traveled valley you reach not as a tourist, but as a true hiker.
Itinerar
Day 1 — Flight to Georgia
We meet at the airport in Bucharest, take the plane and land in Tbilisi the next morning. First contact with the Caucasus.
Day 2 — First steps through Tbilisi
A day dedicated to the capital of Georgia. The blend of architectural styles, of the old with the modern, the people and the Georgian cuisine leave a strong impression. We stay in the old center of the capital.
Day 3 — Transfer to Stepantsminda + Gergeti Trinity Church

Day 4 — Transfer to Juta + Start of the trekking
We approach the mountain through the village of Juta, one of the most remote and picturesque in Georgia. The trekking proper begins: broad valleys, alpine meadows, the Chaukhi ridges gradually appearing. We camp with the genuine feeling of being “far from the world”.
Day 5 — Sadzelisghele Pass (3050 m) → Abudelauri Lakes

Day 6 — Chaukhi Pass (3338 m)
The day that gives the tour its name. The climb to the Chaukhi pass is demanding but extremely rewarding. The mountains open up around us, and the feeling of exposure and freedom is total. From the pass, the panorama is vast. The descent takes us into a remote area…
Day 7 — Descent from the mountains, end of the trail
We gradually leave the alpine zone with the feeling that we have crossed a small, complete mountain universe. The return to Stepantsminda brings the comfort of a real bed, warm food and time for relaxation, stories and recovery.
Day 8 — Abano Valley
